Vietnamese gold prices have significantly outpaced global rates, with SJC gold bars trading at approximately 15 million dong above international equivalents when converted at current exchange rates. Major dealers including Bao Tin Minh Chau, DOJI, PNJ, and SJC reported afternoon buying prices of 133.1 million dong per tael and selling prices of 135.1 million dong per tael.
Gold ring prices also climbed, with 9999 gold rings reaching 131.8 million dong per tael at some dealers, up 300,000 dong from previous sessions. The premium Vietnamese gold commands over international prices has narrowed from a peak of 20 million dong per tael earlier this month but remains substantial due to strong domestic demand and import restrictions.
Despite Tuesday's gains, Vietnamese gold prices remain below their early September peak of 135.8 million dong per tael. Analysts warn that short-term profit-taking could pressure prices after the recent sharp rally, though medium to long-term prospects remain positive given expectations of continued US monetary easing.
